Exhausting getting home

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Dang Sea-Tac airport wanted to charge me to log into the connection there, and the by the time I got home and settled in enough to think about turning on my home computer I had already bypassed the time for getting a post in on the 13th, so I have officially missed one day on the NaBloPoMo.  Ah well, I’m not in this for prizes or anything anyway, just for the fun of getting things posted to this site and getting myself thinking about my need to be writing on Heir to Magic every day.  That is the most important reason for participating in NaBloPoMo for me.

I’m home though, and downloading mass e-mails I had not got to check in Vegas.  I also need to get back into writing, double-timing it even.  I know I can write 80,000+ words in a month, so I have a LOT of catching up to do for NaNoWriMo and see if I can maybe write 50,000 words in 15 days.  LOL  That’ll be a killer.  But, I know I can make that goal, as long as the muses for Magic of Love don’t flee away from me and leave me with nothing to write about.  So… cry havok and let loose the muses of war!

Bellaio Fountain as seen from Circus Circus

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Okay, I just had to share this! Last night as I was talking to my friend on the phone I saw this jet of water launch into the sky.  Later as I was sending an e-mail I looked out the window and the fountain was shooting up it’s water spray again, I grabbed my camera and took this series of pictures — that’s the fountain centered in the pictures along that band of red in the middle.

Look close at the middle there – you see the fountain spray along those red lights there? Couldn’t see spray of the Bellagio in last picture, well, maybe you can see it in this picture?

I’m at Circus Circus for Blog World Expo

Well, after some trial and error I have got my laoptop hooked into the Circus Circus wireless network.  Yay!  Now, don’t expect a lot from me on this because it is costing me $11 a day to log in. *yeowch!* I guess for someone that was staying just one or two nights that would not be bad, but this little business woman is scampering off to McDonalds for lunch tomorrow to see if they have a WiFi hotspot there.  I’m here a whole week and can’t see paying $77 for wireless access for one week when I am not in my room during the conventions and will be working on my novels most of the time I am in my room.

I need to download Firefox to this computer though, :::whines about not having my cool spellchecker on here::::  Typing this is much harder without that auto spelling checker I have on my desktop running Firefox.

Anyway, it took me some trial and error to get the computer online here, but I am online and ready to go.  Got 24 hours access for that $11 I paid, so I can work online and catch up my work before my friend gets here tomorrow night, so I’m going to go work and — oh! I’m excited about two things.. first off – I can order The Bourne Ultimatum! I had bought and brought with me The Bourne Identity and the Bourne Supremacy, hoping that the Bourne Ultimatum would be released by the time I came to Vegas – It’s not out on DVD, but I can rent it for $10.99 on the hotel system! And Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix too!  So, my late night movie watching is all set out.  LOL

The other thing I want to note is even if they did mess up and forget my room number when I called, I reccomend the Pizzeria here at Circus Circus for anyone looking for something to eat.  Delivered straight to the room and since they forgot the room number and I had to call back they gave me the soda for free.  And the gal even had 50 cents I could get as change (gave her rest of change as tip) so now tomorrow I can lock my stuff in the room safe (costs fifty cents to lock it and get the key out of it.)  So I won’t need to carry so many things around tomorrow if I go walking around the hotel.

Time to hit the RedBull

nanowrimo-all-hail-redbull.gifI found this image online, but I forget where it was exactly, must go find out and leave a link to their site… Ah yes, of course! it was Language Is A Virus check out all his other icons too, they are really good.  Right now I am hitting the Sugar Free RedBull to get me woke up enough to get my butt in gear and finish what remains to be finished so I can scram out of here.  I’m actually looking forward to six hours on a plane with nothing to do but sort out my novels and get to work on them again.  Only minor panic attacks at the thought of flying when paired with the thought of a chance to catch up on work.

Late post

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

It is still the 3rd for me, but this is a very late post coming in on the list.  I spent most of the morning catching up on work, then had to go to town and did not get back until late, then I had to get a bunch of things done and figure out what I have for taking to Las Vegas and what I need to get in the morning before I head for the airport, so… this is really late, but I’m still just barely getting ready for bed so it is technically still on time for posting every day counting in Alaska time.  We have sunlight high in the sky at midnight after all, and the sun never sets in Barrow in the summer – of course, it never comes up there in the winter, so it balances out.

The only work I got done today was all behind the scenes type of work making sure my novels and everything was in order for me to work on them during the trip, too much else to do this close to taking off for me to be writing on them right now even if my muses would sit and talk to me right now.
